He we go again. Back for it’s eighth year, the World Championship of Online Poker has started at PokerStars. Since it's first appearance in 2002 the World Championship of Online Poker has gone from strength to strength. This year’s series has a guaranteed total prize pool of $40 million, which will be competed for in 45 events.
At 7:30pm last night, UK time, the richest online poker tournament series in history kicked off with a six-handed No-Limit Texas Holdem tournament which has a $1.25 million prize pool, and that’s just the opening event. There are a whole host of different poker games being played in the various events at this year’s WCOOP with direct buy-ins from $109 or you can qualify through the many online poker satellites available at PokerStars. The prize pools for each of the WCOOP events range from $50,000 for less popular poker games like the 8-Game and 7-card stud to $10 million for the series grand final, the No-Limit Texas Holdem Main Event.
You can qualify for any of these WCOOP events through the huge number of WCOOP satellites to be found at PokerStars. Head over to the PokerStars main lobby and click the ‘events’ tab then click the ‘WCOOP’ tab and there you will find many different online poker satellites to choose from with buy-ins to suit all bankrolls. Some of these satellites have buy-ins for as little as 100 FPP’s or $1. What can you buy for $1? Well you can buy a shot at online poker fame and riches.
An online poker tournament series with so many game variations, buy-ins from as little as $1 and such a rich prize pool (the richest online poker tournament series in history actually) simply cannot be missed. The World Championship of Online Poker promises to be the biggest and best online poker series ever, so play online poker today at PokerStars and maybe you’ll be a world champion by tomorrow.
