Becoming a Supernova Elite at PokerStars is something that very few people manage to do, but those players who are dedicated and skilful enough to actually make it benefit from some serious rewards. 21 year old Mark Ioli has done exactly that, becoming PokerStars 4th Supernova Elite player this year.
Ioli from Long Island, New York was two years into a finance major at the University of Maryland when he decided to switch from student to poker professional, a decision which has certainly proved itself to be a good one. The talented young poker player left university and moved to Queens, New York where he set up office and embarked on his professional poker journey.
Ioli first came onto PokerStars radar at the Latin American Poker Tournament in Mar del Plata, Argentina where he ground out a well earned $25,000 11th place finish. Since then this poker superstar in the making has applied himself playing the tables at PokerStars. Ioli has spent most of this year practicing careful bankroll management while 24-tabling $1/$2 and $2/$4 No Limit Texas Holdem, multi-tabling $3/$6 and $5/$10, and picking and choosing his spots at $10/$20 and even the $25/$50 games. Within eight months he had earned enough VIP Player Points to make it as a PokerStars Supernova Elite, making him one of only four players to achieve this great feat so far this year.
Besides playing even more online poker at PokerStars this year Ioli says that he also plans to play in the WCOOP Main Event, PCA, and EPT Monte Carlo.
