In tonight’s screening of PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge TV show the player line-up reads like the line up from a Spike Milligan sketch. Tonight’s show sees a poker champion, an NBA star and a priest play poker with the priest bidding to win the cash prize to restore and renovate his local church.
The Rev. Andrew Trapp from Aiken, South Carolina certainly won’t be playing weak poker opponents. He will take on former NBA star and cameo film star John Salley and four times WSOP Bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu on TV in an attempt to win the cash for a charitable cause. It would be nice to think that poker expert Negreanu would show some mercy towards the selfless poker player.
PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge TV Show is a new poker show similar to Full Tilt Pokers Face the Ace but the format has been reworked and players not only have to qualify through an online poker tournament held at PokerStars but winners of these tournaments then have to submit a video of themselves, similar to Big Brother, and ultimately the show gets to select who plays poker for the $1 million, making for much better TV.
