Party Poker online qualifier won the Aussie Millions
This year’s Aussie Millions did the profile of certain online poker sites no harm whatsoever. Not only was it a Party Poker online qualifier who won the Aussie Millions this year but he beat another Party Poker online qualifier heads-up to take the crown, while at the same time becoming only the second Australian to win the title just a year after the first Aussie took down the millions.
This year’s 13th annual Crown Australian Poker Championships main event saw 23 year old Aussie national, Tyron Krost beat off challenges from the likes of Annette Obrestad and Peter Jetten in a brutal final table which eventually came to a conclusion with the unlikely pairing of the two Party Poker online qualifiers. Frederik Jensen finally came unstuck to Krost’s K,9 against his own K,6 to see the young Aussie keep the silverware in the land down under for another year.
Following this amazing feat Krost was found sipping champagne, basking in his new-found glory and said “This is totally unbelievable. It is beyond my wildest dreams.” The new Aussie Millions champion spent $700 qualifying for the Aussie Millions package at one of the world’s most popular poker sites, Party Poker and managed to not only covert it into $2 million but also go down in poker history for being the second Australian in a row to win the Aussie Millions, to the delight of Australia’s many poker fans.
The final table of this year’s Aussie Millions finished as follows:
- Tyron Krost - $2,000,000
- Frederik Jensen - $1,100,000
- Sorel Mizzi - $715,000
- Kosta Varoxis - $450,000
- Peter Jetten - $350,000
