Man shot during a poker game
Over the years poker has been given a bad reputation, being played by gangsters and gun-slingers on the silver screen. Thankfully poker games don’t normally live up to this poor reputation. However recent events in Ohio, US won’t have done the image of poker much good when a man was shot during a poker game.
Just like a scene from an old spaghetti western movie, a man was shot over an argument about a game of poker in a bar in West Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday night. Toledo Police broke the news that Joe Hicks, 33, was arrested on assault charges for the shooting of Thomas Phillips at the Malibu Bar just before midnight on October the 14th. According to the police report, an argument started over a poker game which was being held in the Malibu Bar. During the confrontation Hicks pulled out his gun and shot towards Philips. Fortunately for Philips the bullet didn’t hit him directly and although the ricocheting bullet hit him in the forearm his injury is not serious.
